Disaster relief
As we are very well known in the community of Diepsloot (an informal settlement, where we run many of our projects), we are often called on when disaster strikes. In the summer months when we experience heavy rains, flooding is a major problem and we supply food and blankets. All year round there is a major problem with fire burning down shacks because of the use of paraffin stoves, candles and open fires. Fires burn through shacks very quickly before the fire brigade can assist; lives and all belongings are lost. Again, we respond quickly with blankets food and clothes.
